SHIPMATE · TERMS

Terms of use.

The terms for using ShipMate
and the service that delivers its messages.

Effective October 28, 2026

1. The agreement

These terms apply when you use the ShipMate app and the service that delivers its messages. ShipMate is published by Zachery Gentry (“I,” “me,” or “my”). By creating an account or using ShipMate, you agree to these terms.

When you get ShipMate from the App Store, your license to the app is Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement. These terms add to it. If the two conflict about the license, Apple’s agreement wins. How information is handled is described in the privacy policy, which is part of these terms.

2. Who can use ShipMate

You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age required in your country, and able to agree to these terms. Sign in only with a phone number you own or are allowed to use.

3. No tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users

ShipMate has zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. You must not use ShipMate to send or share content that:

  • harasses, bullies, threatens, stalks, or intimidates anyone;
  • promotes hatred or discrimination based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, or similar characteristics;
  • is sexually explicit, or sexualizes or endangers minors in any way;
  • depicts, threatens, or encourages violence, self-harm, or terrorism;
  • is spam, a scam, fraud, or impersonates someone else;
  • is illegal, or infringes anyone’s privacy, intellectual property, or other rights; or
  • shares someone else’s private information without their permission.

You also must not contact people who have made clear they don’t want to hear from you, try to get around a block, or create a new account after yours was removed.

4. Reporting and blocking

Touch and hold any message to report it. Open a contact to report or block them, and use the options on a contact request to block the sender. Blocking someone removes your conversation with them for both of you, stops them from messaging you or sending you requests, and sends me a report. You can unblock people in Settings.

I review reports within 24 hours. To report something urgent, or if you can’t use the app, email zacherygentry@gmail.com. If someone is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services.

5. Enforcement

I may remove content and suspend or permanently remove any account that breaks these terms, with or without notice. When something is reported, I may review the reported content and recent messages in that conversation. Reports, and the messages they include, are kept to investigate and prevent abuse even after an account is deleted, and may be shared with law enforcement when the law requires it or someone’s safety is at risk.

6. Your content

You are responsible for the messages and other information you send. You keep ownership of it, and you give me permission to store, process, and deliver it as needed to run ShipMate and enforce these terms.

7. Connectivity and availability

Message delivery depends on networks outside my control, including a ship’s connection and Apple’s notification service. Messages may be delayed, shortened, or not delivered. Don’t rely on ShipMate for emergencies. Use onboard Wi-Fi according to your cruise line’s terms. ShipMate is independent of every cruise line.

8. Disclaimers and limits

To the extent the law allows, ShipMate is provided “as is,” without warranties, and I am not liable for indirect or consequential damages, or for content other people send you. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under laws that can’t be changed by agreement.

9. Ending your use

You can stop using ShipMate at any time and delete your account in Settings. These terms continue to apply to anything you did while using ShipMate.

10. Changes and contact

I may update these terms. When a change matters, the app will ask you to agree again before you continue. Questions about these terms: zacherygentry@gmail.com.
