Code Timer.
Every event. Every second.
A timing and documentation companion for the adult resuscitation recorder.
zacherygentry@gmail.com
A recorder’s aid
Start a code clock, document events, review the timeline, and export a record for verification.
Code Timer does not recommend treatment, calculate doses, replace clinical judgment or local protocols, or serve as the official medical record. Do not enter patient identifiers. Keep your usual clock and documentation process available.
Requires iOS or iPadOS 26 or later. Core recording, review, and export work without an account or internet connection.
Common questions
How do I get ready?
Open Settings → Getting ready. Review the reminder intervals with your team, enable alarms, and rehearse on the devices you will use. Tap Start Code to begin immediately; tap the code clock to correct its start time.
What can I record?
Log compressions and pauses, rhythm and pulse checks, shocks, medications, airway, vascular access, vitals, notes, ROSC, and re-arrest. Settings → Recorder offers Original console, Action console, and Running record layouts.
Why didn’t an alert sound?
Check alarm permission in Code Timer Settings and your device’s system settings. Test alarms on your physical device while locked, in Silent mode, and with your usual Focus settings. Device state, battery, and system limits can affect delivery. If you enable fallback notifications, their sounds respect Silent mode and delivery depends on notification and Time Sensitive settings. A paired Watch should be checked separately.
How do I correct an entry?
Use Undo for a recent tap, or open the timeline and tap an event to correct its time, details, or note. Corrections retain the original entry in the audit trail. Review the complete record before using or sharing it.
How do I export or print a record?
End the code, review its summary, then tap Share. Choose PDF code sheet, CSV spreadsheet, or plain text. Use the system share sheet to save, send, or print a PDF. Copy as text is also available. Verify and transcribe the information into your institution’s official record. Only share to destinations permitted by your organization.
Where are records stored? Can I recover a deleted record?
Records stay in this app’s storage on this device and are excluded from device backups. There is no developer server or cloud sync from which to recover them. Deleting a code or deleting the app and its data removes the local record. Keep an appropriate verified export before deleting, reinstalling, or replacing the device.
How do I protect or automatically delete saved records?
In Settings → Privacy and storage, enable Lock saved records to require Face ID, Touch ID, or the device passcode. Starting and running a code remain available. Keep completed codes defaults to Until I delete them; you may choose 7, 30, or 90 days. Expired completed records are removed when the app applies retention, including at launch or when it becomes active. Active codes are kept.
What does the debrief show?
Debrief and documentation review summarizes the recorded sequence and highlights documentation gaps. Missing entries mean “not documented,” not that an intervention did not happen. Calculations depend on the events you logged. This is not a clinical assessment or a validated evaluation of care quality.
Why are on-device highlights unavailable?
This optional experiment needs a compatible Apple Intelligence device, Apple Intelligence enabled, and its on-device model ready. It selects from app-calculated facts; it does not create clinical recommendations. Free-text notes and custom names are excluded from model input. The full calculated debrief works without it.
How do I report a problem?
Email zacherygentry@gmail.com with your app version, device model, OS version, steps to reproduce, and what you expected. Use a made-up practice record if a screenshot helps. Do not send patient names, dates of birth, medical record numbers, real code records, or other sensitive clinical information. This inbox is for app support, not emergency assistance or medical advice.
Need a hand?
Send the app version, device, and a description without patient data.
