1. Overview
Zachery Gentry provides Code Timer as a timing and documentation companion for the adult resuscitation recorder. The app does not require an account and does not contain advertising, tracking, analytics SDKs, or automatic uploads of your code records to the developer. I do not sell your personal information or use it for targeted advertising.
Do not enter patient names, dates of birth, medical record numbers, or other patient identifiers. Code Timer is not the official medical record. Follow your organization’s rules for the information you record and share.
2. What stays on your device
The app stores the events you log, event times, medications and other entered details, notes, outcomes, and an audit trail of corrections and retractions. It also stores preferences such as reminder intervals, recorder layout, retention, haptics, and saved-record protection. A randomly generated per-install identifier is stored locally and attached to log entries for record provenance; it is not used for advertising or sent to a developer server.
Records are stored in the app’s private storage using operating-system file protection. Saved record files remain accessible to the app after the device has first been unlocked following restart, so supported Lock Screen actions can record events. The record directory is excluded from device backups. There is no app-operated cloud backup or synchronization. Ordinary preferences may be handled by system backup mechanisms separately.
The optional saved-record lock uses system authentication. Code Timer receives whether authentication succeeded, not your biometric data or device passcode. This lock protects access to saved records inside the app; starting and recording an active code remain available.
4. Optional on-device highlights
On compatible devices, an optional experiment uses Apple’s on-device Foundation Models framework to select highlights from facts already calculated by Code Timer. Free-text notes and custom names are excluded from the model input. The app does not send those facts to a developer or third-party AI server. Selected highlights are temporary, are cleared after edits or backgrounding, and are not included in saved records or exports. The calculated debrief works without Apple Intelligence.
5. Permissions and system services
Alarm permission enables scheduled timing reminders. Optional notification permission enables fallback reminders. Optional Face ID, Touch ID, or device-passcode authentication protects saved-record access. The app does not request access to your contacts, photos, microphone, location, or HealthKit records. You can manage available permissions in system Settings.
Apple provides the operating system, App Store, system sharing, authentication, alarm and activity frameworks, and on-device model. Apple may process store, device, or diagnostic information under its own settings and privacy policy. Code Timer does not integrate its own crash-reporting or analytics service.
6. Retention, deletion, and your choices
Completed code records are retained until you delete them by default. You can delete a code from its summary or history. Settings → Privacy and storage lets you choose automatic retention of 7, 30, or 90 days. When retention is applied, including at launch or when the app becomes active, expired completed codes and their audit trails are removed. Active codes are kept.
Deleting the app and its data removes its locally stored records. Records are excluded from device backups and cannot be restored by the developer. Save an appropriate verified copy before deleting or replacing the app or device. Removing the app does not remove copies you have shared elsewhere.
You can review and correct recorded events in the app. Corrections retain the original in the audit trail until the code itself is deleted. If you contact me about privacy, I can address information you have sent me, such as support correspondence, but I cannot access or delete the records stored only on your device.
7. Support correspondence and this website
If you email support, I receive your email address and whatever you choose to send. I use it to respond, troubleshoot, and handle privacy requests, and retain relevant correspondence as needed for those purposes and legal obligations. Please use fictional examples and do not send patient data, actual code records, or sensitive clinical screenshots.

8. Children and policy changes
Code Timer is intended for adult resuscitation recording by trained users, not for children. I do not knowingly collect children’s personal information through support correspondence. Contact me if a child has sent personal information. This policy may change when the app’s features or data practices change; the effective date identifies the latest version.
